Jacaranda.

Through this article, I will introduce to you Beautiful places to see jacaranda around central Sydney, and can be easily moved by public transport. The locations are also arranged in order for the most convenient travel. Let's read the article!

  1. Watt Park

Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/dawYZVMmSWBMABFB8

This is a park located near Lavender Bay, looking straight out to the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. I got here by train, the nearest train station is North Sydney Station, then walk about 500m to get there.

I came here at 5am to catch the sunrise, but unfortunately the weather was not favorable 🙁
Standing at this angle you can see the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and jacaranda.

My favorite view here. Jacaranda and a red-roofed house looking straight out to the Harbour Bridge.

2. Christ Church Lavender Bay

Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/kfyuMHArZsuMSZnUA

Just 200m from Watt Park, this is an ancient church located on the hillside, with Gothic Revival architectural style, high dome and artistic stained glass windows.

In front of the door, in the yard or behind the church, there are many jacaranda planted. This is also a place chosen by many couples to take wedding photos because of its beautiful architecture, as well as its convenient location, allowing you to see the city from above.

You can see more photos of the church in my next post about Sydney.

3. McDougall Street

Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fo5F362ZE5SHuYoS7

McDougall Street is probably the most familiar place for Sydney residents as well as tourists every time the jacaranda season comes. This is a street with two rows of purple phoenix flowers on both sides of the road, stretching nearly 500m, extremely famous on social networking sites.

McDougall Street.

This street is only about 900m (~15 minutes walk) from the two locations above. At the time I went (November 9), there were staff standing at both ends of the street, not allowing cars to pass so that people could easily walk in to take photos without encountering any danger.

The parking lot outside is often full, so you should walk or call a taxi when you get here to save time looking for parking.

Because it is a beautiful and famous place, everyone should try to go as early as possible to avoid crowds. According to my observation, after 8am, there are many tourists coming here to take pictures.

4. Kirribilli Ave Street

Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/wJYRd9rPy2GFdCaq8

I accidentally discovered this street on the way from McDougall Street to the Lookout to take a photo of the Opera House. This street also has two rows of jacaranda trees on both sides of the road, more than 500m long. Although the rows of trees are not as beautiful as those on McDougall Street, in return, there are many fewer people passing by here. You can freely take photos without worrying about anyone entering the frame.

The Opera House lookout point I mentioned is located right next to Kirribilli Ave.

5. First Fleet Park

Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/iFvuBgBW6xwj31UP7

This park has a location where you can take a picture of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House together with the beautiful jacaranda. This is also the location where I wanted to take the best photo today, because it has three symbols of Australia in the same frame.

But unfortunately when I arrived, most of the flowers had fallen 🙁

To get a high angle shot like this without a drone, you can go to Cahill Walk Lookout, take the elevator to the 3rd floor, then walk back to First Fleet Park, where the photo above was taken.

I leave the elevator coordinates here for everyone to find easily: https://maps.app.goo.gl/WpdPWhSzxcjETUeN7

6. University of Sydney

Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/4bgRSwfAAnm2Y4N88

The University of Sydney is one of the most prestigious universities in the world and the oldest in Australia. With more than 170 years of history, the school is not only an educational icon but also the pride of the city of Sydney thanks to its unique architectural beauty.

Right at the entrance to the school, there is a beautiful jacaranda road, a favorite photo spot for students and visitors.

Jacaranda street is extremely beautiful at the University of Sydney and is also much less crowded than McDougall Street.

The University of Sydney has a very large campus, the buildings here are famous for their beautiful Gothic Revival architecture, reminiscent of old universities in England such as Oxford and Cambridge.

We can see jacaranda everywhere on the campus of the University of Sydney, from classrooms, libraries, or sports fields.

November is also the graduation season for students. Many students take advantage of this time to take graduation photos with jacaranda at school.

Because the school is very large and has so many beautiful photo angles, I will write a separate article to share the images at the University of Sydney. Please pay attention to read the following articles.

7. Sydney Town Hall.

Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/E7wB4Gi5LqLPuEJr8

Sydney Town Hall is one of the iconic architectural works in the center of Sydney, Australia. With its long history and unique architecture, this town hall is not only an administrative center but also an important cultural site.

In front of the city hall are two huge purple poinciana trees, along with its beautiful architecture, this is a popular photography spot for many people when coming to Sydney.

Same as in First Fleet Park, then the time I come Sydney Town Hall, the jacaranda have fallen quite a lot, so the photos are not very satisfactory. However, I still share this location, so that you know and come to take photos in the next flower seasons. Hope everyone will have beautiful photos here.
