Summer in Japan is famous for its spectacular fireworks displays, festivals held throughout the month, and colorful wind chimes.

There are many places in Kyoto, as well as other cities, that hang wind chimes in the summer, in different shapes and colors. Today I will introduce to you one of those places in Kyoto, which is Heian Shrine (Heian Shrine).

Heian Shrine.

Heian-jingu Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Sakyō-ku, Kyoto, Japan. The temple is ranked by the Association of Shinto Shrines as a Beppyō Jinja (top shrines).

This temple is also quite easy to get to, with only 230 jpy and 30 minutes by bus to get straight to the gate.

There is also a very large torii gate in front of this shrine, which is one of the top torii gates in Japan.

This column's base probably needs 5 people to hug it all :v

Remember to buy yourself a Kimono to take beautiful wind chimes :v

Two mascots stand on both sides of the temple entrance.

After entering the door, go to the left to reach the wind chimes area.

Wind chimes hang everyone's wishes here. People can also buy paper to write down their wishes and hang them here.

The wind chimes here also come in many shapes, such as Shiba dogs, cats, pandas,...

Let's see some of the pictures I took here.

Author of today. Hair is a bit boring =))

After taking photos here, we will buy tickets to the garden surrounding the temple, the price is 300 jpy for children, and 600 jpy for adults.

Entrance to the garden.

At the entrance to the garden, there is a Kyoto tram from 1912 preserved here.

There are quite a lot of plants and flowers here, and there is a fish pond. The time I went was in July, so the lotus was not yet in full bloom.

The lotus pond is in the garden.

Walk around the garden, and you will eventually come to this area. A covered bridge and wind chimes hang along both sides of the walkway.

The next place to hang wind chimes is at Heian Shrine.

There are also seats here for people to rest, enjoy the breeze and admire the scenery.

It's super cool and comfortable here because there are many trees, and it also absorbs the wind.

I accidentally took a photo of a cloud of two people kissing each other :v

At the foot of the bridge is an aquarium, turtles. You can buy bread (sold on the bridge) to feed the fish and turtles, under the gentle sound of wind chimes, this is a quite peaceful scene.

Looking at it, I know that many people are feeding me 😀

On the right side of the bridge is a rather luxurious place to hold special events, such as weddings and engagements.

This was the first time I saw a traditional Japanese wedding.

Very beautiful couple

The bride and groom also take their wedding photos here.

Marrying a smiling husband :))))

Very lovely message: WE LOVE KYOTO.
Take one last photo here before leaving.

Then we exit the garden at the exit gate.

The exit gate also has many beautiful angles.

A long corridor

After exiting the gate, we go to the right to enter the main hall of the temple.

This is the end of our journey to discover one of the top temples of Kyoto as well as of Japan. Thanks for reading to the end.
