After many years of going and experiencing cherry blossom viewing in Kyoto, I have narrowed down the 2 most beautiful places to see cherry blossoms in this ancient city. Each place has its own unique characteristics, suitable for many different photography styles.
1. 伏見十石舟 – Fushimi

Is a branch of the Uji River, with the highlight being two rows of cherry blossoms spread across both river banks, creating an extremely "cinematic" scene.
You can also sit on the boat and admire the scenery on both sides of the river (fee 1200yen)
You can comfortably find a beautiful shooting angle without having to move too much.
Here are some suggestions for my shooting angles, photos taken with the FujiFilm XT-3 & Fujinon XF 16-80mm F4 combo. Remember to click on each photo to see it more clearly !
Bonus: This area is also extremely famous for sake brewing in Kyoto as well as Japan. After exploring, you can also visit the nearby Gekkeikan Okura Sake museum to explore the process. wine making, display area for delicious wines, and you can also taste wine here!

2. 七谷川 – Nanatanikawa (Kameoka)

A place large enough for you to take photos without fear of sticking people in the frame. You can take all types of photos you want, such as picnic photos, people photos, landscape photos, pet photos, and wedding photos here!
The downside is that traveling is quite difficult, the bus only departs once every hour, so remember to check the time before departure to avoid long waits.
