The Floriade flower festival was first held in 1988, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Canberra and the 200th anniversary of European arrival in Australia. Initially, the festival was planned to be a one-time event, but due to the great success of this first event, it has become an annual event. Each year, Floriade has grown and gradually become one of the most famous flower festivals in Australia. Today, let's explore what's inside this special festival.
Floriade usually takes place from mid-September to mid-October in Canberra's Commonwealth Park. The park, located on Lake Burley Griffin, is transformed into a floral wonderland with over a million blooms designed by gardeners and artisans.

Floriade Festival is completely free of admission for the entire duration of the event for everyone to enjoy. Only 4 nights, from October 3-6, 2024 (each year will have a different schedule) will take place “Night Fest” – an art lighting event and will collect admission.
Ticket prices for this year's Night Fest (2024) are: 35 AUD (about 600k VND) for adults, 27 AUD for children, and 97 AUD for the whole family. Children under 4 years old are free.
More than 30,000 visitors are expected to attend Night Fest over four nights. Last year, Night Fest, along with Floriade, attracted 433,271 visitors to Commonwealth Park, generating a whopping $50 million for the city.
The main flowers here are different types of tulips, with full shapes and colors, such as purple, red, yellow, white, pink, ...
There are also Narcissus, Daisy, Bellis perennis, ... planted among the tulip garden.
Every year, Floriade is decorated with a different theme. This year, in its 37th year, Floriade will celebrate creativity with the theme “Art in Bloom”.
In addition to admiring and taking photos with flowers, visitors to Floriade can also attend music performances, comedy skits, and enjoy cuisine from many countries at the booths. The 2024 festival will feature British singer Emma Price, New Zealand comedian Shay Horay, and Burlesque legend Memphis Mae.
