Nara is a very famous red leaf viewing spot in the Kansai region of Japan. In addition to the overwhelming red color of momiji in Nara park, the row of ginkgo trees in Tenri city is also a place that attracts many people. Visit and take photos every November. This yellow-leafed road is about a 10-minute walk from Tenri station, very easy to get around.
The most beautiful time of this road is the first 3 weeks of November. The time I went was November 12, 2023, which is also the time of the "pedestrian paradise" event (歩行者天国) ).
During the event (10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, November 11 and 12, 2023), this road will be closed to vehicles and reserve all space for pedestrians, serving Photography service here.
Even though it was raining quite heavily when I went (as usual :D), there were still a lot of people coming to visit and take photos. Proving the great attraction of this road.
On Sunday (November 12), the parade event "Hokotenri" (ほこてんり) also takes place here with performances by Nara Prefectural Police along with Tenri University's Leon marching band.
At 1 p.m., the parade started, luckily the rain had stopped.
The event was first held in 2022, and has continued to be held this year.
Immediately following was the performance of Tenri University.
The last performance of the parade was also the most impressive parade for me.

This year is also the first year the ginkgo trees on this road are lit up (from 6-8 pm on November 10-12).
