Cherry blossoms in Japan usually begin to bloom from mid-March to early April with characteristic pale pink and white colors, however there is still a special species of cherry blossom, famous for its bright pink color and very large appearance. Early, as a signal that spring has arrived, it is Kawazu Sakura.
There are many locations throughout Japan that have this flower, especially the cherry blossom festival in Kawazu (Shizuoka), Yodo Riverbank (Kyoto), Sumida Park (Tokyo), and Nishihirabatake Park. (Matsuda – Kanagawa) – and this is also the place that I will introduce to you today.

This park is located near Shin matsuda station, only about 1 and a half hours by train from Shinjuku - Tokyo station. From the station you can take a bus or taxi straight to the park, but I recommend you walk to enjoy and see all the cherry blossom trees growing along the way.
During the festival (mid-February to early March), there will be a lot of people coming here to take photos, especially on weekends. So please pay attention to arrange your departure time as early as possible to avoid crowds.
Park admission is 300 JPY for adults, and 100 JPY for people under 18 years old.
Let's explore with us what's inside the park.
When I went (February 24), there were still quite a few trees that had not yet fully bloomed, so everyone can rest assured that they will still be beautiful in early March.
Going higher up the park, we also see an extremely large mustard flower garden that is also in bloom.
The mustard flower garden is interwoven with hundreds of cherry blossom trees from the park entrance to the top.
Let's take a look at some of my shooting angles on the way to the top of the park:
There is also a slide here for people to slide down from the top, but unfortunately when I went it was out of service.
Besides cherry blossoms and mustard flowers, there is one thing that makes me absolutely have to come here to take photos, and that is Mount Fuji. We can see Mount Fuji from the park, depending on weather conditions. When I started to get to the park, I couldn't see anything at all, the clouds were quite dense and covered the entire mountain, but when I climbed closer to the top of the park, I finally saw this scene:
And immediately, I ran in different directions to capture this moment, before Mount Fuji was covered by clouds again 😀
There are also many private areas for people to take photos, such as the swing overlooking Mount Fuji, or the "balcony" with this amazing view:
When I went down and left, a lot of people flocked here, the ticket purchasing area was also lined up very long. Therefore, to take many beautiful photos, as well as have the best experience here, you should go as early as possible.
In addition to Nishihirabatake Park, in this area there is also Aguri Park Sagayamaen park located above, also a park with cherry blossoms and canola flowers, and admission is free. If you still have time or still want to take more photos, you can stop by this park.

This trip was quite favorable and lucky for me, from the favorable weather, to seeing cherry blossoms and Mount Fuji (even though it was only 15 minutes), or going with new friends who have the same passion. I love taking photos and bring back many beautiful photos 😀
And finally, today's author photo. Thank you for reading to the end of the article.
