- Watt Park

First up, let's head to Wendy's Secret Garden! It's this awesome park tucked away near Lavender Bay, with killer views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. I hopped on the train and got off at North Sydney station, then it was just a short 500m stroll to the park. Easy peasy!

2. Christ Church Lavender Bay
Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/kfyuMHArZsuMSZnUA
About 200m from Watt Park, you'll find St. Stephen's Church, an old church perched on a hillside. It's got that Gothic Revival style, with high arches and those fancy stained-glass windows.
Jacaranda trees are everywhere around the church – out front, in the courtyard, even out back! It's a popular spot for wedding photos, thanks to the beautiful architecture and those amazing views of the city.
Want to see more pics of this stunning church? Stay tuned for my next Sydney post!
3. McDougall Street
Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fo5F362ZE5SHuYoS7
McDougall Street is THE place to be when those jacarandas are in bloom. It's like a purple paradise, with rows of these beauties lining the street for almost 500m. This spot's Insta-famous for a reason, guys!
This street is just a short stroll from the last two spots – about 900m, or a 15-minute walk. When I was there (November 9th), they even had staff blocking off the street to keep cars out. That way, you can wander down the street, snap some pics, and soak up all the purple vibes without worrying about traffic.
The car park here fills up quickly, so if you're driving, be prepared to circle the block a few times. Honestly, it's way easier to just walk or grab a taxi.
This place is seriously popular, so if you want to beat the crowds (and snag those Insta-worthy shots!), get there early! I noticed things started getting busy around 8 a.m., so set that alarm and get your camera ready!
4. Kirribilli Ave Street
Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/wJYRd9rPy2GFdCaq8
I stumbled upon this street while walking from McDougall Street to the lookout point for Opera House photos. It also has rows of purple jacaranda trees on both sides, stretching for over 500 meters. Although the trees are not as perfectly lined as those on McDougall Street, this street is much less crowded. You can take photos freely without worrying about anyone walking into your shot.

5. First Fleet Park
Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/iFvuBgBW6xwj31UP7
This park has a spot where you can capture the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, and the jacaranda blossoms together. This was the location where I aimed to take the best photo of the day, as it features three iconic symbols of Australia in a single frame.
To achieve this elevated view without a drone, head to the Cahill Walk Lookout. Take the elevator to the third floor, then walk back towards First Fleet Park. This is where you can capture the photo shown above.
I leave the elevator coordinates here for everyone to find easily: https://maps.app.goo.gl/WpdPWhSzxcjETUeN7
6. University of Sydney

The University of Sydney is one of the most prestigious universities in the world and the oldest in Australia. With over 170 years of history, it is not only an icon of education but also a source of pride for the city of Sydney thanks to its unique architectural beauty.
Right at the entrance to the university, there's a stunningly beautiful jacaranda-lined street, a favorite photo spot for students and visitors alike.
The University of Sydney has a sprawling campus with buildings renowned for their stunning Gothic Revival architecture, reminiscent of the historic universities of Oxford and Cambridge in England.
Jacaranda trees can be found throughout the University of Sydney campus, from the academic buildings and library to the athletic fields."
November is also graduation season for students. Many take advantage of this time to capture their graduation photos with the jacaranda blossoms as a backdrop.
Since the university is so vast and offers a plethora of picturesque photo opportunities, I'll dedicate a separate post to sharing images of the University of Sydney. Stay tuned for that in the coming articles!
7. Sydney Town Hall.
Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/E7wB4Gi5LqLPuEJr8
Sydney Town Hall is one of the most iconic landmarks in the heart of Sydney, Australia. With its rich history and distinctive architecture, the Town Hall serves not only as an administrative center but also as a significant cultural venue.
In front of the Town Hall stand two enormous jacaranda trees. Combined with the building's striking architecture, this location has become a beloved photo spot for visitors to Sydney.
Similar to my experience at First Fleet Park, by the time I arrived at Sydney Town Hall, many of the jacaranda blossoms had already fallen, so the photos weren't quite what I'd hoped for. Nevertheless, I'm still sharing this location so you can visit and take photos during future blooming seasons. I hope you'll capture some amazing shots here!
