The University of Sydney (USYD) is a top-notch Aussie uni, ranking among the top 3 largest in the country and snagging a spot in the global top 50 for 2023 (according to University Rankings). But it's not just about brains at USYD! The campus is seriously stunning, often hailed as one of the most beautiful in Australia.

This post isn't about all the boring uni stuff like courses and scholarships (yawn!). Instead, get ready for a visual feast! If you're curious about what this stunning campus looks like, you've come to the right place. Let's dive in!

USYD is smack-dab in the middle of the city, about 5km from the Opera House and a quick 10-minute train or bus ride from Central Station.

Beautiful trees right at the school gate.

I visited in early November, when the campus was bursting with the vibrant purple hues of jacaranda blossoms. It was like stepping into a fairytale!

The path leads to the school's sports field.

Want to see more of these gorgeous purple blooms? Check out my post "Where to Find the Best Jacaranda Trees in Sydney" HERE.

Almost every building has a purple poinciana tree in front.

To make it easier for you to follow along, I've included a map of all the spots I'll be snapping pics of today. I snagged this map from the uni's website, so you can check out their site for more info on other buildings around campus: https://maps.sydney.edu.au/

My photo shoot schedule today.

Next up, I headed over to the Faculty of Medicine building, where I was greeted by a breathtaking display of jacaranda trees in full bloom. Seriously, these purple beauties were out in full force!

This location is also a popular choice among students for capturing their graduation photos.

And the grand finale of my photoshoot today? The Quadrangle! This is where you'll find the most stunning buildings on campus, all clustered together in a picture-perfect setting. Get ready for some serious architectural eye candy!

The Quadrangle Building.
Gate to the quadrangle.

The Quadrangle is a stunning example of Gothic Revival architecture, a style that draws inspiration from those epic medieval buildings you see in movies. Think soaring arches, intricate details, and a whole lotta history baked into every brick.

And get this – the Quadrangle is full of these awesome archways. You can stand behind one and snap a pic with the old buildings peeking through in the background.

Oh, and there's a jacaranda tree at the corner of the building too. Sadly, most of the blossoms had already fallen by the time I got there. Late October is the sweet spot for snapping pics at USYD. The weather's perfect, the sun's not too harsh, and the jacarandas are in full bloom. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

The Jacaranda tree stands gracefully at the corner of the building.

Okay, Potterheads, get ready to freak out! This place totally looks like Hogwarts. I swear I half expected to see Harry and Ron zooming past on broomsticks.

This Quadrangle building has been around since 1854! Yep, that's a whopping 170 years of history right here. And guess what? It's still the heart and soul of the uni, hosting all the big events and ceremonies. Pretty cool, huh?

Feast your eyes on all the pics I snapped at the Quadrangle! Thanks for sticking with me till the end!
