When cherry blossom season is at mankai (the peak blooming time), not only Kyoto, but almost all provinces of Japan can see sakura anywhere. Any park, no matter how big or small, has at least one cherry blossom tree. That is a quite special point of Japan, and also the reason why people call Japan "the land of cherry blossoms". Therefore, it is very difficult to choose a suitable cherry blossom viewing schedule for one day, because there are... too many choices, a pleasant headache 😀

The cherry blossoms are at their peak blooming time.

And today, I will guide you how to arrange the time to see cherry blossoms in Kyoto in a reasonable day and go to the most beautiful places. Let's get started!

To avoid crowds at locations famous for cherry blossoms, you should start your trip as early as possible. The earlier you go, the less people there will be and the more shooting angles you will have.

The first place I went to was Gion-Shirakawa, an extremely popular place every time cherry blossom season comes.

Flowers have bloomed extremely abundantly right from the entrance.
I was here at 7:30, so I hardly saw anyone passing by. Enjoy taking photos.

Along this street are wooden houses, typical of Kyoto.

These are all restaurants and cafes that you can experience.
"Familiar guest" of this street.
Cherry blossoms at Tatsumi-jinja Shrine (Tatsumi Dai-myojin), located at the end of the street.
The main colors of this street are red, brown and white cherry blossoms.
If you go early, you will be able to take photos of angles like this without people passing by.
Cherry blossoms at their peak bloom. Really beautiful.
At about 9 o'clock, the first people appeared here.
The river viewed from Tatsumi bridge.
And this is the opposite direction viewed from the bridge. Really beautiful.

By 10 o'clock, this area was really crowded. Taking photos is also quite difficult.

Also Tatsumi Bridge at 10 o'clock 😀

My advice to you if you come here after 10 o'clock is to go over Seseragi-no-michi street located parallel to this street. The scenery is equally beautiful, but the strange thing is that no one comes here 😀

The next place I went to was the area Kamo River bank, located on the opposite side of the two streets above. Just cross the street and you'll get there.

Kamo riverbank.

This area has long been famous as a gathering place for couples and groups of friends to sit on both sides of the river to chat, as well as have small picnics. Now there are more cherry blossoms, adding to the beauty of this place.

The shooting angle covers the old town, Kamo River, and cherry blossoms. You can consult.
This street corner also has very few people passing by, so it's quite easy to take photos.

There are small waterfalls along the river here. Looks quite peaceful.

And this is my favorite photo today. I've waited a long time for this moment.

After walking on the banks of the Kamo River, I returned to Gion Shirakawa street to take a few more photos before moving on to the next location.

And by chance, I captured this lovely moment.

The next place I went to was the river area near the temple Heian Shrine. (You can read my previous article about Heian Shrine here HERE).

Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/rqZBrYXsyFs1Q3av5

First, you walk to the bus stop near Yasaka Shrine. Then take bus number 201 or 206, after 3 stops you will arrive.

Grand Torii in front of Heian Shrine.

But the place I went today is not this temple, but the river nearby.

Cherry blossoms along both sides of the river.

There is a pretty beautiful shooting angle here that you should try. That is to wait when the sightseeing boat passes here, and take pictures with it with the Grand Torii gate and cherry blossoms.

The photography angle is quite nice, you can refer to it.

Remember to try this photography angle when you come here.

On the opposite side of this river there is also a road with beautiful cherry blossoms. You can also visit.

Two mallard ducks are lying in the sun 😀

The Grand Torii Gate is also visible from here.

The next location is about 500 meters away, so we can also reach it on foot. That is Keage abandoned railway shaft (Keage Incline).

Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/AVZhdnbNaL6zLNXU8

Built in the late 19th century, the Keage Incline is a rail system used to pull freight trains carrying coal and construction materials up and down slopes of up to 16%, helping transport goods over steep hillsides. effectively. However, to this day it has stopped operating, and has become a famous tourist destination every time the cherry blossom season arrives.

It was already afternoon when I arrived, so the area was very crowded.

There is another way to help you take photos without getting caught in the photo at this time, which is to stand here and take photos of the road below.

There is an additional foreground of green grass that is quite prominent. The only thing left is to wait for the moments to come.

A very cute puppy with cherry blossoms.

Everyone must have played this game when they were kids 😀 Try to keep your balance on the train tracks. Pretty funny moment 😀

When you reach the end of this train line, stay left side There is a small slope, go down there to reach today's next location. About 500 meters away, is Southern Zen Temple (Nanzen-ji), a very famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Kyoto.

Nanzen-ji.

Nanzen-ji is one of the largest and most important temples in Kyoto, Japan, located in the east of the city. Built in the 13th century, Nanzen-ji belongs to the Rinzai Zen temple system, one of Japan's most important Zen Buddhist sects.

Cherry blossoms are everywhere in the temple.
There are quite a few shooting angles with cherry blossoms here.

And today's last location, is also one of Kyoto's most beautiful cherry blossom locations. I also listed this location in the article "the two most beautiful places to see cherry blossoms in Kyoto", that is Fushimi Jukkokubune (you can read that article again at HERE).

Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/HHDDWBBA2dgvZCXRA

From Nanzen-ji, you walk to Keage station, take the Tozai line to Sanjo Keihan station, then change to the Keihan line at platform 3 or 4 to Chushojima station. Then walk about 500 meters to reach this romantic riverbank.

This place is famous for the river with both sides filled with cherry blossoms growing straight in succession. In addition, there is also a boat service to sightsee both sides of the river. However, tickets usually have to be booked months in advance to be able to buy this ticket.

By the time I arrived it was 6pm, so the boat was no longer running.

It's a pity that I couldn't take a photo of the sightseeing train passing here.

But this is also the first year in the 4 years I've been here that it hasn't rained 😀 During the cherry blossom season, it often rains on weekends every year.

Cherry blossoms silhouetted against the river surface create a quite beautiful scene.

At this point, it also started to get dark, luckily I was able to take many photos here.

And here I have completed a full day of cherry blossom viewing in Kyoto. The locations are all very beautiful, and especially extremely close to each other, so moving is very easy, thereby saving time and giving you more time to take photos.
