Nara is a famous spot for autumn leaves in the Kansai region of Japan. In addition to the vibrant red momiji in Nara Park, the ginkgo trees in Tenri City also attract many visitors who come to admire and photograph them every November. Today, I'll introduce you to one of the most beautiful golden avenues (yellow leafed streets) in Tenri City. Let's explore!

This golden avenue is just a 10-minute walk from Tenri Station, making it easily accessible.
The best time to see this avenue is during the first three weeks of November. I visited on November 12th, 2023, which coincided with the "Pedestrian Paradise" (歩行者天国) event.
During the event (10:00 AM - 10:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday, November 11th and 12th, 2023), this street is closed to traffic, creating a pedestrian-only zone perfect for photography.
Despite the heavy rain (as usual :D) during my visit, many people still came to admire and take photos, proving the undeniable charm of this avenue.
On Sunday (November 12th), the "Hokotenri" (ほこてんり) parade took place, featuring the Nara Prefectural Police and the Tenri University Leon marching band.
The parade started at 1:00 PM, and thankfully, the rain had stopped.
This event was first held in 2022 and continued this year.
Next was the Tenri University performance.
The final performance of the parade was also the most impressive for me.
The event lasted for about an hour. You can see the annual schedule of the event HERE .
This year was also the first time the ginkgo trees on this street were illuminated (from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on November 10th, 11th, and 12th).
Let's take a photo tour of this avenue.
There is also a spot where you can capture a panoramic view of the entire avenue from above - the pedestrian bridge.
Let's see some portraits I took here:
Today's model is a very cute Japanese girl.
Her style is also very cool.
The ginkgo avenue in Tenri, Nara, is truly one of my favorite golden avenues because of its spaciousness and the freedom to walk and take photos in the street.
Don't forget to add Tenri to your list of places to see golden leaves in Kansai; its beauty will surely not disappoint!
