Quy Nhon is one beautiful coastal city in central Vietnam, way Phu Yen about 90km to the North. This place is famous for its vast sand dunes, peaceful coastal fishing villages, giant windmills, and especially its long, beautiful beaches. It will definitely be a great choice when you travel to the Central region of Vietnam.
In this article, I'll provide a suggested itinerary for exploring all the beautiful spots in Quy Nhon in just one day (including famous landmarks and hidden gems that few people know about). Let's dive in!
Regarding how to get to Quy Nhon, I flew to Phu Cat Airport (Quy Nhon) and then took a car from the airport to my hotel. Since the airport is quite far from the city center (about 40km), taking a taxi can be quite expensive, so I booked a car in advance through Quy Nhon car groups at a much cheaper cost (from 200-250k VND for a 5-seater car).
To be in top shape for exploring Quy Nhon, I took a flight the previous evening at 7pm, settled into my accommodation, and sampled some local cuisine before embarking on my journey early the next morning.
Right after arriving in the city center from the airport, I tried the gỏi cá Xứ Nẫu at a local restaurant, a specialty dish in Quy Nhon.

In the picture, you can see shrimp cakes, fish salad, and grilled beef. The shrimp cakes and fish salad are wrapped with fresh herbs and rice paper, and dipped in the restaurant's special sauce, which is delicious and flavorful. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, occasionally checking in to see if I needed anything (since I was dining alone).
Below is a list of the places I noted down to visit during the day. The beautiful spots in Quy Nhon are quite close to each other, all located in the same area, which makes it very convenient to get around.
From the city center (where most hotels and homestays are located), the photo spots are about 20km away, so I rented a motorbike from my hotel for more flexibility with my time. You could also hire a car to take you to these locations, but that might limit your time. Most drivers aren't able to start as early as 5-6am, which, in my opinion, is the best time to take photos in Quy Nhon. Below is the detailed itinerary:
- Quoc Thang gas station.
You're probably wondering why I took a photo at a gas station, but this happens to be the location of Binh Dinh's first vending machine (installed back in 2007)! It's even been featured in music videos by several famous Vietnamese singers.

2. Eo Gio
Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/W2tkWZx5kuSDSSJ76
This is one of the two must-visit spots in Quy Nhon (the other being Eo Gio and Ky Co Beach). With its stunning coastal cliffs, it's the perfect place to start your morning.
Eo Gio is open from 7am to 7pm, and the entrance fee is 25,000 VND for adults.
There are also stairs leading down to the rocky beach below, which is the most popular photo spot at Eo Gio.
Eo Gio isn't a very large area, so you'll only need about an hour to take photos and explore. But remember to go early, as taking photos will be much easier when the sun isn't too strong.
3. The green stone coffee road
This stunning cafe is located right near Eo Gio, and it's a great place to have breakfast, relax, and take photos after exploring Eo Gio.

The cafe has spacious grounds with plenty of photo opportunities. When I visited in August, there were also beautiful bougainvillea blossoms in bloom.
What's more, there's a stunningly picturesque road leading to Nhon Ly fishing village just beyond the cafe's back entrance. Simply leave your motorbike at the cafe and take a short walk down to capture some photos. It should only take about 30 minutes to explore and photograph this charming path.
4. Nhon Ly fishing village.

At the end of the blue stone road, we will see the fishing village with an extremely long coastline appear right in front of us.
From this beach, you can also admire and photograph dozens of giant windmills in the distance.
5. Phuong Mai Wind Farm.

The photos below were taken on the way to Phuong Mai Wind Farm. The scenery in person is even more stunning than in the pictures.
If you're taking photos with your phone, use the 3x or 5x zoom lens to capture the windmills "larger". If you're using a camera, use a telephoto lens with a focal length of 85mm or more.
6. Nhon Hai fishing village.

On the way to Nhon Hai fishing village, I came across an incredibly scenic slope with a view that stretched out to the distant ocean, framed by vibrant yellow flowers lining both sides of the road.
Nhon Hai fishing village, with its blue sea, golden sunshine, and hundreds of fishing boats at anchor, creates a truly peaceful scene.
There are also many restaurants here that you can try, such as Banh Xeo Co Nam, fresh seafood at Hon Kho, or Coco Camp...
Today, I chose Coco Camp for lunch and to take a break.

The restaurant also offers stand-up paddleboarding and swimsuit rentals, so you can take advantage of those if you'd like.

7. Quy Nhon Wind Farm / Phuong Mai Sand Dunes / Ky Co beach
You can choose one of the above locations as your next destination, depending on your personal preferences and photography style. I'll provide the addresses for each location below.

Phuong Mai sand hill: https://maps.app.goo.gl/oBrXHY8u8FRYRuQS9
Ky Co Beach: https://maps.app.goo.gl/gGqzm164TxjQkjy2A
Of the three locations, only Ky Co Beach has limited opening hours (7am to 5pm), so be sure to factor that into your schedule.
8. Thap Doi Quy Nhon
Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Ly8n8n4YyprGSXGL7
Unlike the other places on this list, Thap Doi Quy Nhon is located in the city center. This area has plenty of restaurants and is convenient for checking out of my hotel and catching my ride to Phu Yen. That's why I chose Thap Doi as the final stop on my Quy Nhon itinerary. Quy Nhon discovery journey mine
Thap Doi consists of two adjacent towers, the larger one reaching a height of about 20 meters and the smaller one about 18 meters. Both exemplify classic Cham architecture.
Both towers are adorned with intricate carvings, including depictions of deities, decorative motifs, and sacred symbols such as the Garuda bird and statues of the god Shiva—representing power and protection.
The entrance fee for Thap Doi is only 20,000 VND for adults, and it's open from 7am to 6pm every day of the week.
9. Banh Xeo Tom Nhay
And the final stop on my Quy Nhon food tour was bánh xèo tôm nhảy, a Quy Nhon specialty. I chose Moc Mien restaurant for this culinary experience. There's another popular bánh xèo place right next door, so feel free to pick whichever one suits your fancy. I'll include Google Maps links for both below:

I found the food to be quite fresh and delicious, with plenty of accompanying herbs. The service was also fast and efficient. I highly recommend trying this place out.
And there you have it—my one-day Quy Nhon itinerary! It starts at 6am and ends at 6pm. Next, I'll be traveling from Quy Nhon to Phu Yen to continue my journey. Stay tuned for upcoming posts about Phu Yen on my personal blog!

That day I also visited the twin towers and ate jumping shrimp pancakes. It would be a waste to come to Quy Nhon without eating jumping shrimp pancakes.
The photo set is lush and beautiful.
One day to explore so many wonderful places.
