An Dinh Palace, situated in Hue City, is a remarkable architectural masterpiece of the Nguyen Dynasty, showcasing a unique blend of Asian and European cultural influences. Built in the early 20th century, it once served as the residence of King Bao Dai and the royal family following his abdication. With its ancient charm and significant historical value, An Dinh Palace is a must-visit destination when exploring the heritage of Hue's ancient capital.

And today, let’s explore An Dinh Palace through the photos I captured during my visit.

Cung An Định – Huế.

Ticket price: 50,000 VND for adults, free for children.

Right at the entrance, you’ll encounter Khai Tuong Lau, the main architectural centerpiece of An Dinh Palace. This three-story structure features a striking blend of Asian and European architectural styles.

Khai Tuong Pavilion.

Tam Quan Gate and Trung Lap Pavilion.

Inside Khai Tuong Pavilion is a magnificent palace spanning over 700 square meters across three floors. It once served as the residence of King Khai Dinh.

Inside the current palace, artifacts used by the king and paintings of significant artistic value are on display. Most notable are six paintings depicting real scenes of five Hue mausoleums: Dong Khanh Tomb, Tu Duc Tomb, Thieu Tri Tomb, Minh Mang Tomb, and Gia Long Tomb.

The first floor offers many stunning photography spots for visitors. Feel free to explore and find your own unique angles:

Staircase from the 1st to the 2nd floor.

The second and third floors were once the residence of Queen Mother Tu Cung. Today, these floors are used to display antiques, valuable paintings, and historical documents related to King Khai Dinh and Queen Nam Phuong from ancient times.

Take a moment to admire the photos of King Khai Dinh and Queen Nam Phuong.

Stepping out onto the second-floor balcony, you can capture closer shots of the building's intricate architecture.

From here, you can also view the Trung Lap Pavilion and the Tam Quan Gate from above.

The entire view behind the palace, including the expansive flower garden.

Despite many historical upheavals, this structure has endured, becoming a captivating destination for both domestic and international tourists, serving as a reminder of a glorious era in the history of Hue's ancient capital.

This is also a popular photography spot for many young people.

And with that, my morning tour and photoshoot at An Dinh Palace concludes. This majestic and historically rich palace will undoubtedly make it onto my list of must-visit places in Hue, Vietnam.
