After June filled with color with hydrangeas, in July, Japan continues with the next equally beautiful flower season, the lotus. And today, I will introduce to you some of the most beautiful lotus garden locations in the Kansai area, so you can easily choose the location that best suits you.

  1. Yumesae Lotus Garden (夢前 蓮の花苑) – Himeji

Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/REiNy9HYpHmwfsaU9

This lotus garden 1 hour 45 minutes from Osaka station take trains and buses. First, you go to Himeji station, then get on the bus, take about 25 minutes to go straight to the garden (usually the bus stops at bus yard number 17, everyone pay attention).

This garden is located next to Yamasa Kamaboku seafood processing company, you can eat, drink, and buy things here before taking photos.

This store mainly sells seafood-related foods, including prepared and frozen foods, and omiyage for takeout.

Prepared foods are very diverse, from shrimp patties, squid patties, octopus, ...

Besides the restaurant there is a public restroom, girls can also change clothes here before taking photos.

This garden is very large, divided into different zones, each zone has a type of lotus, and there is a path between each zone, very easy for taking photos.

The time I went was late June, early July, the flowers were just starting to bloom, and would bloom beautifully until mid-July. Everyone, please arrange your time to go early.

The first area of the garden is the white lotus, with small white petals and a touch of pink at the tip of the petals.

Some pictures I took at this lotus garden:

The next area of the garden is the pink lotus garden, with more vibrant and eye-catching colors.

The road is located between two white and pink lotus gardens.

The pink lotus blooms with larger petals, grows close together, and has bright colors so it is easy to photograph.

Let's see some of the pictures I took here:

And the last area, located at the farthest end, is also the most beautiful part of the garden. Everyone, remember not to miss it.

The lotus in this area grows tall, has pink petals, and the leaf color is also more beautiful than the previous two areas.

We can easily take photos "in the middle of the lotus garden" like this.

Let's take a look at some of the pictures I took in this area.

In my opinion, this is the most beautiful location for taking lotus photos in the Kansai area, with a large campus, paths between gardens, diverse and colorful flowers and especially no entrance fee.

2. Kyoto Botanical Garden (京都府立植物園)

Address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/tnA2XPX9ri2o7BDw6

About how to get there, you go to Kyoto station, then take the train to Kitayama station, then walk about 10 minutes to the garden. Admission: 200 JPY.

As the name suggests, this is a botanical garden located in Kyoto city, with hundreds of different types of plants and flowers, blooming beautifully all year round. In addition to lotus, this garden also has roses, hydrangeas, peonies, cherry blossoms, or bamboo forests,...

This garden is also very convenient for transportation, just over an hour by train from Osaka station or 30 minutes by train from Kyoto station.

3. Fujiwara Palace Ruins – Nara

An extremely familiar place for you in the Kansai area, famous for its garden of mustard flowers and cherry blossoms blooming at the same time.

You can review how to get here in my article "Canola and cherry blossoms at Fujiwara Palace Ruins" at THIS.

In addition to mustard flowers and cherry blossoms, this area is also famous for its Cosmos and lotus flower gardens.

Here there are up to... 10 different types of lotus, with all shapes and colors.

This area is very large, there are also paths in the middle of the gardens, there is parking and public toilets for everyone.

Above are three typical lotus viewing locations in the Kansai area. If you are in Osaka, and don't want to spend too much time traveling, you can refer to the following places:
