Hanoi Walking Street was opened on September 1, 2016, operating on weekends, from Friday evening (usually from 7:00 p.m.) to the end of Sunday. And during this time, motor vehicles are banned from operating in the area around Hoan Kiem Lake and some old streets, creating a comfortable space for pedestrians. The most exciting activities usually take place in the evening, such as performances by street art groups, painting exhibitions, folk games, or street food stalls...
However, in my opinion, the best time to take photos on the walking street is early morning or late afternoon, when the walking street is not too crowded and the sun is not too harsh, so it is easy to take satisfactory photos. And today, let's take a walk around Hanoi's walking street and neighboring streets to see what views we can capture.
- Hanoi Cathedral

The Great Church is an ancient architectural work built in 1884 by French colonialists during the period of domination of Vietnam.
The church was built in the medieval Gothic architectural style, similar to Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris in France. Gothic architecture is characterized by high, pointed arches, large stained-glass windows, and elaborate carvings.
The Cathedral is not only a religious building, but also a cultural symbol of Hanoi. This is the place where many cultural events and festivals take place, and is a famous tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
Opposite the church is the very old Hanoi House cafe, don't miss this photo spot when you come to the Cathedral.
Besides Hanoi House, there is also Cong cafe with egg coffee and the autumn specialty of Hanoi, sticky rice with green rice. You must try it when you come here in the fall!
2. Tiệm báo Nhân Dân

Located at the intersection of Nha Tho Street and Hang Trong Street, Nhan Dan Newspaper is a very new check-in location for young people in the capital recently.
This is simply a newspaper store, but it is displayed and decorated in a very nostalgic style, with the main color being yellow.
The photo angles here are also very diverse. Simply sitting outside the door like this is enough to get a beautiful photo.
When you come here, don’t forget to buy a copy of Nhan Dan newspaper. Besides following the news, this is also a great “assistant” to make your photos more beautiful!

Nam Huong Communal House is only about 100 meters from Nhan Dan newspaper store, convenient for my travel to the next locations, so I stopped by to take some photos.
Nam Huong communal house has the characteristics of traditional Vietnamese communal house architecture with sophisticated carvings and mainly made of wood.
4. Loading T Café

A cafe with extremely ancient architecture, located only 200 meters from the Cathedral, very suitable for my old town photo shoot vibe today.
The architecture of this cafe resembles an old apartment building, still retaining the traditional features of old Hanoi.
The inside of the shop is also decorated in an ancient style, with marble floors and wooden doors with worn paint. Drink prices here range from 60,000 to 100,000 VND, a bit higher than the average.
5. Đền Phù Ủng

A small temple located right next to Loading T Café, located at 25 Ly Quoc Su, with quite ancient architecture.
This temple is quite small in scale, but inside it worships outstanding figures in Vietnamese history, such as Tran Hung Dao, Pham Ngu Lao, Yet Kieu, Da Tuong, ...
Outside the temple there is also a building painted in beautiful yellow, don't forget to take pictures here before moving on to the next locations.
6. Toà soạn báo Hà Nội Mới.

A check-in location that is certainly very familiar to young people in Hanoi, the bulletin board of the Hanoi Moi newspaper office is always in a state of long lines waiting to take photos 😀
The newspaper headquarters is located at 44 Le Thai To, built in 1893 in the French architectural style. The newspaper headquarters stands out with its rather “old” yellow color, tinged with time and very suitable for nostalgic photos.
7. Tháp Rùa – Hồ Hoàn Kiếm.

Located right across from the Hanoi Moi newspaper office, this is the center of Hanoi's walking street, and is also a photo spot not to be missed when visiting the capital.
Walking along the lake, we can take pictures with many famous landmarks of Hanoi, such as Turtle Tower, VNPT Hanoi building, The Huc bridge, Ngoc Son temple, ...
8. Toà nhà bưu điện Việt Nam.

Đây là là một công trình nằm đối diện với hồ Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội, gồm ba tòa nhà bưu điện tọa lạc tại các phố Đinh Tiên Hoàng, Lê Thạch và Đinh Lễ, được xây dựng theo phong cách kiến trúc tân cổ điển và Art Deco (Theo wiki).
This is also a very popular photography location for young people in the capital.
On weekends (from Friday night to Sunday), the streets here are reserved entirely for pedestrians. So “standing in the middle of the street taking photos” like this is done extremely easily.

10. Nhà hát Lớn Hà Nội (Hanoi Opera House)

Located at 1 Trang Tien, right next to Trang Tien Plaza, the Hanoi Opera House is the city's performing arts venue, hosting classical music, dance and opera performances.
This project was started by the French in 1901 and completed in 1911, modeled after the Opéra Garnier Theater in Paris but smaller in scale and using materials suitable for Vietnam's climate conditions.
This is also a very popular photography spot for everyone when coming to Hanoi, not only locals, tourists, but also photographers really love taking photos here.
