Dia Tang Phi Lai Pagoda dates back to the Ly Dynasty, around the 11th century. Throughout its long history, the temple faced periods of decline and neglect. In 2015, it underwent a significant restoration and reconstruction under the guidance of Venerable Thich Minh Quang, transforming it into a renowned spiritual and tourist destination in northern Vietnam.
The temple is located approximately 80km from Hanoi's city center, nestled on a small hill in Lien Son Commune, Kim Bang District, Ha Nam Province.

The temple offers ample parking space, and both parking and temple entrance are completely free of charge. Two imposing statues of the Vajrapani guardians stand guard at the entrance, welcoming visitors to this spiritual sanctuary.

The temple's secluded location, far from the city center, creates an atmosphere of profound tranquility. What surprised me most was the sheer expanse of the temple grounds and the meticulous detail evident in its design and construction.

Perhaps these spacious gardens and simple houses represent the yearning of many who seek tranquility and escape from the outside world.

The temple is characterized by its rich brown wooden tones and red-tiled roofs adorned with meticulously carved dragons.

The temple’s name “Ksitigarbha Phi Lai” is meant to pay homage to Buddha Ksitigarbha, a Bodhisattva whose mission is to save sentient beings from suffering in hell. “Phi Lai” means neither coming nor going, reflecting the Buddhist philosophy of impermanence.

Surrounding the temple halls is a vast lotus pond, teeming with colorful fish.

Conveniently located near the temple, you'll find a shop where you can rent traditional Vietnamese attire, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the cultural atmosphere and capture stunning photos.
I will leave the address of the costume rental store here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/5vKdfptGC91EiuMV9
