After several years of exploring and experiencing cherry blossom viewing in Kyoto, I’ve identified the two most stunning spots to enjoy the blossoms in this historic city. Each location offers its own unique charm, perfect for capturing a variety of photography styles.
1. 伏見十石舟 – Fushimi

A branch of the Uji River, with the highlight being two rows of cherry blossoms stretching across both banks of the river, creating an extremely "cinematic" scene.

You can also take a boat ride and enjoy the scenery on both sides of the river (fee: 1200 yen).

You can easily find a beautiful shooting angle without needing to move around too much.
Here are some suggestions for my shooting angles, taken with the FujiFilm XT-3 & Fujinon XF 16-80mm F4 combo. Remember to click on each image to see it in more detail !

Bonus: This area is also renowned for sake brewing in Kyoto and Japan. After exploring, you can visit the nearby Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum to learn about the brewing process, browse the wine display area, and even taste some of the delicious sake!

2. 七谷川 – Nanatanikawa (Kameoka)
Address: https://goo.gl/maps/hNCcSRp992kRn4xB6
A spacious area where you can take photos without worrying about other people getting into your frame. It's perfect for all kinds of photography, whether it's picnic shots, portraits, landscape photos, pet pictures, or even wedding photos!

The downside is that travel can be a bit challenging, as the bus only departs once every hour. Be sure to check the schedule before you leave to avoid long waits.

Here are some of my suggested shooting angles, with the photos taken using a Samsung Note 20 Ultra. Be sure to click on each photo to view them in more detail!

… And finally, the author's photo (^>^)
